Program Structure

Our program offers three distinct tracks designed to meet interpreters where they are in their professional journey, providing targeted support, skill development, and resources to ensure success at every stage — all with the goal of enhancing access and outcomes for Deaf and hard of hearing students.

Track 2: Non-Renewable-Licensed Interpreters
This track is designed for interpreters who hold a non-renewable license issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC). These interpreters are actively working in educational settings while pursuing the requirements needed to obtain full credentials. The program provides structured, skill-building professional development aligned with licensure goals, and may include support with EIPA preparation, ethics training, and content area knowledge. Participation is intended to help interpreters meet the performance and academic benchmarks required for full licensure.

Track 1: Pre-service Interpreters
This track is open to junior and senior-level students currently enrolled in interpreter preparation programs within the state of Georgia, as well as Georgia residents attending interpreter education programs in other states. The focus of this track is to build foundational skills, introduce educational interpreting standards and expectations, and prepare participants for a smooth transition into the field. Participation in this track is encouraged as a complement to formal coursework and may include observation opportunities, mentorship, and access to introductory Canvas modules

Track 3: Fully-Licensed Interpreters
This track is designed for interpreters who hold a full GaPSC license. The focus is on maintaining and enhancing professional competence through ongoing learning that reflects current best practices in interpreting, education, and inclusive instruction. Offerings may include advanced workshops, CEU-eligible modules, and opportunities for leadership, mentorship, and community engagement. Fully licensed interpreters are encouraged to contribute their expertise to support the growth of newer interpreters and the interpreting community as a whole.

Make it stand out.

  • Dream it.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
